A lot of people came to the series late. Look at the Starkids! Most of them didn’t start reading until high school or college. I don’t think you’re missing out or anything. We all come to fandom in different ways.
Yeah, I was just really sheltered and hate the double standard that there is in my family just because they wanted me to always be their precious little girl. Seriously, I hate it. Even now my mom is hesitant to let me watch scary movies or let me read fantasy novels.

Sometimes I find that reminding parents that you’ll be in college eventually and have to start filtering these things on your OWN can help.
Take all parental advice with a grain of salt though. I don’t know how well that would go over with yours even though it worked with mine.
Seventeen. My moms starting to accept that I’m growing up but as for dad… He likes treating me like I’m six.

Harry Potter comes first before pretty much everything in my life ever. It has been my obsession since 3rd grade and it’s never going to change.
Taz is damn awesome though. I totally agree.
(I would have been okay with Hermione too but uh Ginny is more fitting for AVPM.)
Yeah I never really got that into it. I mean, I do absolutely love it but I never got to grow up with it like so many others did. And really, that made a huge difference. I went to a Christian school for a while and Harry Potter was banned from it. Even just saying the name would get you in trouble. I saw the first movie in theaters but that was after my teachers brainwashed me into believing that it was the work of Satan. So for the longest time I was so scared of it. I never actually read the books until I was fourteen. I really wish I could have grown up with it but for years I wasn’t allowed. Don’t get me wrong, I love the series and everything that has come from it but I feel like I’d love it so much more if I was allowed to like it when I was younger…
Oh and by the way, extreme double standard here. My brother read the first one when he was 11 and then every year he would move onto reading the next. I wasn’t allowed to read them until I was 14 and he was finishing Deathly Hallows

Yes. And the fact that the musical I got was Starship. I just really loved that one. And Taz is also my favorite Starkid character.
